a need

a need

have you ever had an uncontrollable urge and a need to satisfy it that's so intense it would literally kill you if you don't? well, if you don't have one, good for you. unfortunately, i do. (and i'm sure most of you out there share my sentiments).

be it the latest IT bag, a pair of jimmy choos, a nice brunch or even more sleep, we all have our list of must-buy, must-watch, must-eat, must-see items. for myself, i'm fine doing without most of my desires (sounds wrong) but there's an insect that has been troubling me and nagging at the back of my head for the past few months.

don't worry, it's not some skin-eating, bone-dissolving parasite, but i reckon it does much more damage than that. in short, i've caught the travel bug. again. shit.

the notion of travelling never fails to lift my spirits and make me swoon for the mere thought of escaping the monotony of my absolutely boring life and the chance to glimpse the world can hardly be passed up. unfortunately for me (but fortunately for my savings) i haven't really had the chance to go on a proper trip ever since taiwan last march. hkg trip in march this year doesn't count for i didn't enjoy myself, and we all know how important it is to enjoy when you are travelling, if not, that can hardly be counted as a holiday can it?

well, i have the money, the ticket but the companion and the time is nowhere to be found. darn. seriously need to start planning on stretching my limited budget to go to as many places as possible for once the exciting life (yea, right.) of an army recruit commences in oct, that'll put a stop for all my getaway plans for the next 2 years. dang!

hoping to use my hkg ticket wisely this time round by travelling to macau and really get in touch with the heart and soul of this 2 places. deliberating on whether to visit disney again and am tempted to explore ocean park, but going there alone's just boring. then there's taiwan in july/aug/sep with bert, really hope that it will materalise for i miss my taiwan! 我爱台湾!

am also crossing my fingers for a beach escape, maybe to redang, tioman, langkawi or phuket? wanting to experience the joy of reading trashy novels (i like!) and sipping tea/pina coladas by the beach while doing absolutely nothing. hope that happens!

need to get back to work now as have not done anything since starting this morning. completed whatever that's on my hands yesterday. (an unfortunate downside of being too efficient) have to start finding things to do..

- itch itch, scratch scratch - the travel bug just bit me again.
