wanna love new york .

i laarrvvee neeeww yoorrkk !

-credit: cruzteng.com-

chanced upon the above while cruising cruz's (geddit? :P) blog and immediately fell in love. its not exactly the most understated of designs and hinges a little okay (rolls eyes), a lot on the gaudy side, but who cares, i like.

i've actually came up with a plan on how to get my hands on one of their male wallets:

1) Save enough cash - kinda hard given my salary allowance.
2) Get someone who's heading to the big apple to get it - no one.
3) Hope that there's actually a male wallet in that range. - can't seem to find.

all things considered, i'm actually enroute to getting my very first gucci wallet real soon, no?

as the dust settles

as the dust settles . .

looking back at the past four months, i can proudly say that army life has been good to me thus far (heng ah!!)... bmt was extremely enjoyable and though life as a trainee was fraught with irritating people who were getting more irritaing and stupid people who got increasingly stupidier towards the end, i sure had some great moments during the 9 weeks.

many of those centred around the people in the pictures below and them i'm extremely thankful for, as i couldn't have made it out in one piece and retained my sainity without having them around. (okay, maybe i'm exaggerating a little but it was that bad at times.)

to celebrate the completion of our training and the beginning of our unit lives, a dinner was organised. what started out as an intimate gathering of about 5 people turned out to a not-so-intimate (that's an understatement) gathering of about 15 guys. yours truly suggested dinner at vittles as i had a great time there during my bro's bdae lunch and missed the nachos like crazy.

-jia xing giving the camera the finger while the rest were busy ordering-

-ah ngoh! my close buddy of 16 weeks and counting. gonna miss having ya around!-

-jx, resident cartoon and all around great guy-

- the gang -

after weeks of going without, i was dying for a k session and finally got my wish fufilled. i've always found it interesting k-ing with different groups of people as you often get to see another side of them that it'd be hardpressed to find otherwise. this time proved no different for who knew that sy could not only talk in chinese, but sing it too! amazing! :P -no offense though- yy, expectedly, was a great singer (duh. he's trained. lolz) who was pitch perfect and hit the high notes effortlessly. yours truly tried to emulate him but "i have no professional training!" (just quoting a certain mr hung.)

after k and bowling (which the rest went), we met again for supper more like drinks at hans (our original venue - prata house was unfortunately not 24 hours like we thought.) it's kinda disturbing (yea right.) how bitchy and gossipy guys can get for over teh-pengs and snapples (and an odd plate of beef hor fun), grudges and stories flowed easily. me being me, enjoyed myself tremendously and even contributed my fare share.

-us at some unearthly hour, this time with yy and darren zhong-

we only broke at around 4am since most of us couldn't hardly keep our eyes open. and with "see you soons!" and "all the best in your new units!", a group of strangers who bonded over the course of 9 weeks and became more than friends bade their farewells.

at the bottom of my heart, i know that this is only temporary for we part only to meet again.

take care guys, and keep safe.

in the red.

in the red.

considering that the lunar new year has 15 days, this post is still in time to wish one and all a very happy cny and a great year ahead. cny has always ranked high on my list of fave festivals (slightly after xmas) but couldn't help feeling that festivals no longer have that special sense of meaning once i enlisted. xmas was blah, new year 08 was blah... you get the idea. however, i was intent on not making cny a blah one so be prepared for the aftermath of a rather happening cny - massive picture uploads. :)

i leave you with one of many more red pictures to come as well as our very avant garde yusheng at aunt joyce's place.

yatta!

yatta!

okay, i gotta admit that i was extremely slow on getting onto the bandwagon but after finally getting the dvds from bert on cny eve, i officially declare that i'm kinda hooked on heroes now.. great script and story but unfortunately, performances by some of the actors leave much to be desired.

wanting to stay in the know has got me sleeping at like 2am for the past 2 nights and i'm still nowhere near completion (darn.) am planning to load a couple (more like 5) episodes into my ipod touch and bringing it back to camp tmr. hmms.. good idea no?

"save the cheerleader, save the world!" - in the world of cliched show quotes, this has got to be in a class of its own..
