in·ept in·ept (in-ept, i-nept) adjective - generally awkward or clumsy; haplessly incompetent just a short-on-words-heavy-on-pictures post before i crash out after working 12hour shifts for the past 3 days. (now who said staying out was slack?!) anyways.. caught 2 shows over the weekend which left me feeling completely useless (that's an understatement).. first up was august rush with hiang on fri. been wanting to catch this movie since forever and was glad to finally have the chance to do so. despite having less than stellar reviews, the movie, with its star ensemble and great (okay, GREAT) sountrack didn't disappoint. in fact, it was so good that me being me, teared towards the finale. (but then again, hiang did too, so i wasn't alone.) :P seeing Jonathan Rhys Myers strumming and singing on the guitar and Keri Russell playing the cello so passionately made me wanna call up any music school and book my guitar lesson pronto. (ps i will, once my schedule gets sorted out.)
the second show was totally an unexpected decision. went to shaw balestier with my bro to pick up ice cream after dinner at my aunt's house on sun. mum wanted to watch her korean drama (which i evidently didn't) and suddenly realised that we had time to watch a movie. thankfully, step up 2 the streets was available and grabbed that since i loved step up. as with august rush, reviews weren't spectacular but i wasn't there for the plot or acting. duh. this movie's all about the moves man! though Jenna Dewan wasn't cast and Channing Tatum only cameoed, the new leads definitely were up to the task, esp Briana Evigan. she is b-e-a-utiful. and did i mention she dances divinely?
i'm not that much of a hip-hop person and watching the show did not leave me scraming for the phone to book any dance lessons, step up 2 did provide me with much needed entertainment from my absolutely happening life (yea right), especially with the SALSA segment. i was practically swooning over the dance steps while at the same time cursing myself for having 2 left feet. darn.
am now stuck with an insatiable need to rewatch dirty dancing 2: havana nights. now that's a classic all time fave. happy eve of good friday eve everyone! - peace out! |
