conveyor belts, green straws and soup bowls

conveyor belts, green straws and soup bowls

you've been warned. the following post consists of massive amounts of comfort food that might not be for the fainthearted. or the anorexic.

ended up at sakae northpoint 2 fridays ago after a futile forage to partyworld yishun safra with the bro and the cousin. yours truly had underestimated the crowd and failed to prebook a room. ARGH! decided to pig out instead and this is the result.

-jap/korean looking cousin with his chawanmushi-

-hanamakis! craved it so much i ordered 2 portions-

-the aftermath-

popped by our friendly neighbourhood starbucks (i've always wanted to do starbuck runs like the celebs ie brit brit) to grab a cuppa or three. evidently, i HAD to be adventurous and go order the chai latte frap, which very unfortunately, came with a VERY liberal sprinking of cinnamon powder that's not my favourite thing in the world.

-the brother and me on board, take one-

-the brother and me on board, take two-

speaking of favourite things in the world, a huge bowl of piping hot soup definitely ranks high on my list of comfort foods. perhaps that's why, with its huge servings and rather economical (some might disagree) set meals, soupspoon always has a special place in my heart.

soups are also one of the few things that i actually wake up craving for, especially late on saturday mornings. when the pang hits, i usually grab (and treat!) the cousin down to soupspoon @ raffles city to satisfy my urge. have done this on several occasions and resulted in a lighter wallet with the inevitable shopping after.

-boston clam chowder. it was a lil too sweet for my liking though-

-beef golash, one of my fail-proof choices-

-i always ended up with an order of their wedges. though the potatoes are nothing spectacular, the dip is to die for.-

-remnants of a pigout that resulted in bulging but happy stomaches-

the following was taken from last saturday's comfort food seeking session. was too hungry to take any more pictures.

-mushroom stroganoff, vietnamese beef stew, coronation prawn and chicken tikka wraps-

chanced upon this hokkaido ice-cream while roaming around the basement of raffles city. though it was a wet and dark day, but ice-cream eating is for all seasons and weather conditions no?

-matcha red bean with black sesame. not cheap at $5 for 2 flavours, but it was oh so worth it.-

hungry yet? bon appetit!
