timeout timeout . haven't done this in a while and didn't realise how much i missed doing so. in case your mind starts wondering to godknowswhat, i was referring to having a weekday to myself. yep. no work committments to fret over, no need to be jolted awake by an alarm, no crowds and queues everywhere you go and most importanly, no stress and knowing the fact that you have a whole weekday to spend it according to your whims and fancies. shiok ah. decided to get outta bed on yesterday at 9.30am but knowing me, snoozed till bout 11am, just in time to head down to apple centre and repair the cousin's new ipod touch. to my surprise, no queue, no waiting time at all! ah, the wonders of weekday off. zipped down to meet sexy baby and hiang at ikea to indulge in their delectable spread. (although we almost always order the same things. poached salmon and chicken wings). it was great being able to meet cindy over lunch just for a brief catchup cum gossip. though it was short, the session was enjoyable (and scandalous) as always.. -sry bout the lack of food photos though, we were all famished.
commenced our usual stroll/mad brainstorming session around ikea with hiang and this time, we were seriously looking at furniture and fixtures for i will be moving house soon and she's toying with the idea of revamping her whole room. we fell in love with same piece of furniture, a double bunk, and would have gotten it immediately if not for the fact that we were both worried bout the bedframe's height. practicalities.. me: eh at the rate we're going, our rooms are gonna look the same that jaunt around ikea took close to 2.5hours and we BOTH left emptyhanded (not considering the mineral water that she got and ice-cream cone i bought).. as usual.. strolling through the displays and trying out the beds and sofas really transported me back to my poly days, where we (and the gang) were frequent customers of both ikea's alexander and tampines outlets.. we would really play house and pretend amongst the fixtures.. ahhhh.. headed to whitesands for hiang to get some stuff and just whiled time away at coffeeclub. which is quite ironic la, for we always order tea at coffee joints, be it starbucks, coffee bean, tcc or coffeeclubs.. there should be a chain of tea cafes instead, and you'd definitely find me there on any given day.
but i digress, we chatted about anything and everything (as usual) under the good food, seemingly random converstations that make sense, worry-free and lazy afternoons, great company.. |
